Friday 16 August  Driving back from holiday and receive a call from Westminster.  Hurray!

Vicky was delighted to join The Rapid Relief team from Chelmsford on Wednesday 21st August when they served lunch to the staff of Broomfield Hospital.

It’s great to be able to share the truly excellent news that the Chancellor has now approved a £218m funding package to complete Chelmsford’s second railway station at Beaulieu Park and a North East Bypass connecting the A12 to the A131.  Once completed this will mean fewer vehicles travelling in

Monday, 29 July  It’s a long way away but I go over to Brecon and Radnorshire in mid Wales to help with the by-election. I have always found it interesting to help in by-elections as it gives a close feeling of public mood. It is clearly going to be a close race. 

Very good to meet some of the excellent staff from Broomfield Hospital today. Especially the team at the A&E emergency village.

Our environment affects everything – from the air we breathe to the water we drink. But protecting our environment is not only good for our children and grandchildren. It actually helps you save money.

I have been campaigning for extra police in Chelmsford since day one as your MP and even before. Therefore, it was very good to be out on patrol with the new Chelmsford City Centre Police team and our Police Commissioner, Roger Hirst.

Monday, 22 July  Massively busy start to the week.  The Iranians have seized a British oil tanker in the Gulf and the Foreign Secretary (still Jeremy Hunt at this stage) is to make a statement to MPs.  I rush with advisors, agreeing suggested questions for colleagues to ask and briefing them.
