Update on local GP services compared to pre-pandemic

I recently asked for some data so I could see how our local GP services compared to pre pandemic.

In the Mid and South Essex integrated care system there were 65 more full-time-equivalent GPs in December 2023 than in December 2019 and 815,648 more appointments in general practice in the 12 months to December 2023 than in the 12 months to December 2019.

In the Chelmsford constituency, there were 40 more full-time-equivalent direct patient care staff working in general practice in September 2023 than there were in September 2019.

I regularly visit local GPs to hear their views and always attempt to help resolve issues they raise. Thank you to all those who work in our NHS.
