This month brought the good news that the UK economy has turned the corner and has been growing much faster than expectations.  In the first months of this year the UK economy performed better than all other large European countries as well as the United States.

There has been a lot in the news about the need to improve services for women giving birth. A new service has already started in Mid and South Essex to help bring about change and improvement.

I am delighted that Anglia Ruskin University has just been awarded places to train 28 more doctors each year.

Recently in Parliament, I met with representatives of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and thanked them for saving the life of a young Chelmsford resident the previous night.
