Re spiking - I have been campaigning for enhanced measures to prevent this crime. Chelmsford has a strong reputation for being a safe place to enjoy a night out - and we want to keep it that way.

I am delighted that the Government has now agreed to introduce specific modern laws which target spiking. This will help deter perpetrators and keep people safe.

Thank you to Essex Police - Chelmsford District for the work they have been doing on spike awareness in Chelmsford and all those who work to keep women safe.
